The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, made a statement regarding the danger of "Ukrainization" of Armenia while discussing Armenia-West relations in an interview.

 

After the Government meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed this statement at the request of journalists.

 

"What does it mean for Armenia to face such a danger? Armenia has already faced such a danger and has been in such a situation," said Pashinyan. He emphasized that the CSTO has not fulfilled its allied obligations towards Armenia.

 

"What does that statement mean? Why is Mr. Medvedev doing this? Especially since I have had the opportunity to work and communicate with him, meaning we have worked together for a long time, but now what are these threats for? Now I could also say, using the same logic, that someone else might say they want Armenia not to turn into a new Russia, considering that explosions are occurring in various places in Russia. I don't know what is happening; in other words, this is not a good genre."

 

"Armenia is Armenia, and it will not turn into anything else; Armenia will become more and more the Republic of Armenia, more and more a sovereign state. This is our path," the Prime Minister noted.
